SANTIAGO, Mar. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Argentina defeated Chile by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Estadio Nacional de Chile in Santiago.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Ángel Di María ('20) and Mercado ('25).
The result put the Argentine fourth in the group with 8 points. Chile is 6th with 7 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet Bolivia at the Estadio Nacional de Chile on March 29, while Chile will face Venezuela.
