World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Ecuador hold Paraguay to 2-2
QUITO, Mar. 24, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador tied 2-2 with Paraguay (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday afternoon at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium in Quito.
One goal for both sides in the first half, Valencia ('20) for Ecuador, Lezcano ('38) for Paraguay and one each in the second, Mena ('90) for Ecuador, Lezcano ('59) for Paraguay.
The result put the Ecuadorians top of the group with 13 points. Paraguay is third with 8 points. In their next game, Ecuador will meet Colombia at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium on March 29, while Paraguay will face Brazil.
