CORDOBA, Mar. 29, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Argentina defeated Bolivia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Cordoba.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Mercado ('20) and Lionel Messi ('30 on penalty).
The result put the Argentine third in the group with 11 points. Bolivia is 9th with 3 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet group leaders Uruguay at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes on September 1, while Bolivia will face Peru.
