QUITO, Sep. 1, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Ecuador by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday afternoon at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium in Quito.
Gabriel Jesus scored dual goals
Ecuador made the Brazilians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Neymar ('72 on penalty) and Gabriel Jesus ('87, '90).
The result put the Ecuadorians third in the group with 13 points. Brazil is fourth with 12 points. In their next game, Ecuador will meet Peru at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium on September 6, while Brazil will face Colombia.
