ASUNCIóN, Oct. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Colombia defeated Paraguay by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asunción.
45 minutes of play and neither the Colombians nor the Paraguayans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Cardona seconds before the end of regulation.
The result put the Colombians third in the group with 16 points. Paraguay is 6th with 12 points. In their next game, Colombia will meet group leaders Uruguay at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium on October 11, while Paraguay will face Argentina.
