World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Bolivia and Ecuador tied at 2-2
LA PAZ, Oct. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Bolivia tied 2-2 with Ecuador (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday afternoon at the Hernando Siles Stadium in La Paz.
The Bolivians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Escobar ('4 and '43. However, even though they were leading 2-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Ecuador with dual goals from Ecuadorian forward Enner Valencia ('48 and '89.
The result put the Ecuadorians third in the group with 17 points. Bolivia is 9th with 8 points. In their next game, Ecuador will meet group leaders Uruguay at the Hernando Siles Stadium on November 10, while Bolivia will face Venezuela.
