World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Brazil defeats Argentina 3-0
BELO HORIZONTE, Nov. 10, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Argentina by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte.
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to goals from Coutinho ('24) and Neymar ('45). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Paulinho in the 59th minute.
The result put the Brazilians top of the group with 24 points. Argentina is 5th with 16 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Peru at the Mineirao Stadium on November 15, while Argentina will face Colombia.
