World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Uruguay beats Ecuador 2-1
MONTEVIDEO, Nov. 10, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Uruguay defeated Ecuador by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Sebastián Coates ('12) and Diego Rolán ('45).
The result put the Uruguayans top of the group with 23 points. Ecuador is fourth with 17 points. In their next game, Uruguay will meet Chile at the Estadio Centenario on November 15, while Ecuador will face Venezuela.
