LA PAZ, Nov. 15, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Bolivia defeated Paraguay by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday afternoon at the Hernando Siles Stadium in La Paz.
45 minutes of play and neither the Bolivians nor the Paraguayans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Gómez into his own net in the 78th minute.
The result put the Paraguayans 7th in the group with 15 points. Bolivia is 9th with 11 points. In their next game, Paraguay will meet third-placed Ecuador at the Hernando Siles Stadium on March 23, while Bolivia will face Colombia.
