World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Brazil beats Peru 2-0
LIMA, Nov. 15, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Peru by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the National Stadium in Lima.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Gabriel Jesus ('57) and Renato Augusto ('78).
The result put the Brazilians top of the group with 27 points. Peru is 8th with 11 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet second-placed Uruguay at the National Stadium on March 23, while Peru will face Venezuela.
