BUENOS AIRES, Mar. 23, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Argentina defeated Chile by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires.
All the action happened in the first half, with Argentine striker Lionel Messi goal on penalty in the 15th minute.
The result put the Argentine third in the group with 22 points. Chile is 6th with 18 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet Bolivia at the Estadio Monumental on March 28, while Chile will face Venezuela.
