BARRANQUILLA, Mar. 23, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Colombia defeated Bolivia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday afternoon at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla.
Bolivia made the Colombians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Colombian midfielder James Rodríguez with just 7 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Colombians third in the group with 21 points. Bolivia is 9th with 11 points. In their next game, Colombia will meet Ecuador at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez on March 28, while Bolivia will face Argentina.
