World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Brazil defeats Uruguay 4-1
MONTEVIDEO, Mar. 23, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Uruguay by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo.
Paulinho scored tripple goals
Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani opened the score in the 9th minute on penalty, before seeing Brazil catch up in the 18th minute thanks to Paulinho. 1-1 at half time. The Brazilians eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Paulinho ('51, '90) and Neymar ('74).
The result put the Brazilians top of the group with 30 points. Uruguay is second with 23 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Paraguay at the Estadio Centenario on March 28, while Uruguay will face Peru.
