World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Brazil beats Paraguay 3-0
SãO PAULO, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Paraguay by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the Arena Corinthians in São Paulo.
Brazil dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Philippe Coutinho in the 34th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Brazilians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Neymar '63 and Marcelo '85).
The result put the Brazilians top of the group with 33 points. Paraguay is 7th with 18 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Ecuador at the Arena Corinthians on August 31, while Paraguay will face Chile.
