QUITO, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Colombia defeated Ecuador by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday afternoon at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium in Quito.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from James Rodríguez ('20) and Juan Cuadrado ('34).
The result put the Colombians second in the group with 24 points. Ecuador is 5th with 20 points. In their next game, Colombia will meet Venezuela at the Atahualpa Olympic Stadium on August 31, while Ecuador will face Brazil.
