World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Peru beats Uruguay 2-1
LIMA, Mar. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Peru defeated Uruguay by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Tuesday night at the National Stadium in Lima.
Sánchez opened the score in the 30th minute, before seeing Peru catch up in the 34th minute thanks to Guerrero. 1-1 at half time. The Peruvians eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Flores in the 62nd minute.
The result put the Uruguayans third in the group with 23 points. Peru is 8th with 15 points. In their next game, Uruguay will meet Argentina at the National Stadium on August 31, while Peru will face Bolivia.
