LIMA, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Peru defeated Bolivia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the National Stadium in Lima.
45 minutes of play and neither the Peruvians nor the Bolivians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Flores ('55) and Cueva ('59).
The result put the Peruvians 8th in the group with 18 points. Bolivia is 9th with 14 points. In their next game, Peru will meet Ecuador at the National Stadium on September 5, while Bolivia will face Chile.
