World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Paraguay beats Colombia 2-1
BARRANQUILLA, Oct. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (South American Qualifiers) : Paraguay defeated Colombia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Cardozo ('89) and Sanabria ('90).
The result put the Colombians third in the group with 26 points. Paraguay is 5th with 24 points. In their last game, Colombia will meet Peru at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez on October 10, while Paraguay will face Venezuela.
