World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Bulgaria beats Luxembourg 4-3
SOFIA, Sep. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Bulgaria defeated Luxembourg by a score of 4-3 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia.
Bulgaria dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Rangelov in the 16th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Bulgarians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Marcelinho '65, I. Popov '79 and Tonev '90).
The result put the Bulgarians top of Group A with 3 points. In their next game, Bulgaria will meet group leaders France at the Vasil Levski National Stadium on October 7, while Luxembourg will face Sweden.
