World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Sweden draw 1-1 with Netherlands
SOLNA, Sep. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden tied 1-1 with the Netherlands (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Friends Arena in Solna.
The Swedishs started off well by taking the lead thanks to Berg in the 43rd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by the Netherlands with a saving goal from Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder in the 67th minute.
The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group A with one point. In their next game, the Netherlands will meet Belarus at the Friends Arena on October 7, while Sweden will face Luxembourg.
