World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : France defeats Bulgaria 4-1
SAINT DENIS, Oct. 7, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : France defeated Bulgaria by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 3-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
Kevin Gameiro scored dual goals
Bulgaria opened the score in the score in the 6th minute thanks to M. Aleksandrov on penalty, before France regained the advantage with Gameiro ('23), Payet ('26) and Griezmann ('38). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Frenchs further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Gameiro in the 59th minute.
The result put the French second in Group A with 4 points. Bulgaria is fourth with 3 points. In their next game, France will meet group leaders the Netherlands at the Stade de France on October 10, while Bulgaria will face Sweden.
