LUXEMBOURG, Oct. 7, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Luxembourg by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Lustig in the 58th minute.
The result put the Swedish third in Group A with 4 points. Luxembourg is bottom with no points. In their next game, Sweden will meet Bulgaria at the Stade Josy Barthel on October 10, while Luxembourg will face Belarus.
