All the action happened in the first half, with French midfielder Paul Pogba goal in the 30th minute.
The result put the French top of Group A with 7 points. The Netherlands is third with 4 points. In their next game, France will meet group leaders Sweden on November 11, while the Netherlands will face Luxembourg.
