World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Sweden beats Bulgaria 3-0
SOLNA, Oct. 10, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Bulgaria by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at the Friends Arena in Solna.
Sweden dominated the first half thanks to goals from Toivonen ('39) and Hiljemark ('45). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Swedishs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Lindelöf in the 58th minute.
The result put the Swedish top of Group A with 7 points. Bulgaria is fourth with 3 points. In their next game, Sweden will meet group leaders France at the Friends Arena on November 11, while Bulgaria will face Belarus.
