SAINT DENIS, Nov. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : France defeated Sweden by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
Sweden made the Frenchs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Pogba ('58) and Payet ('65).
The result put the French top of Group A with 10 points. Sweden is second with 7 points. In their next game, France will meet Luxembourg at the Stade de France on March 25, while Sweden will face Belarus.
