World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Sweden defeats Belarus 4-0
SOLNA, Mar. 25, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Belarus by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Friends Arena in Solna.
Emil Forsberg scored dual goals
Sweden dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Emil Forsberg in the 19th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Swedishs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Forsberg '49, Berg '57 and Kiese Thelin '78).
The result put the Swedish top of Group A with 10 points. Belarus is 5th with 2 points. In their next game, Sweden will meet second-placed France at the Friends Arena on June 9, while Belarus will face Bulgaria.
