World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Netherlands beats Luxembourg 5-0
ROTTERDAM, Jun. 9, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : The Netherlands defeated Luxembourg by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the De Kuip in Rotterdam.
The Netherlands dominated the first half thanks to goals from Robben ('21) and Sneijder ('34). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Dutchs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Wijnaldum '62, Promes '70 and Janssen '84/penalty).
The result put the Dutch third in Group A with 10 points. Luxembourg is bottom with one point. In their next game, the Netherlands will meet second-placed France at the De Kuip on August 31, while Luxembourg will face Belarus.
