World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Bulgaria defeats Sweden 3-2
SOFIA, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Bulgaria defeated Sweden by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-2), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia.
Two goals for both sides during the first half, Manolev (12e) and Kostadinov (33e) for Bulgaria, Lustig (29e) and Berg (44e) for Sweden. After the break, the Bulgarians settled the issue with another goal courtesy of midfielder Ivaylo Chochev in the 79th minute.
The result put the Swedish second in Group A with 13 points. Bulgaria is third with 12 points. In their next game, Sweden will meet Belarus at the Vasil Levski National Stadium on September 3, while Bulgaria will face the Netherlands.
