World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : France beats Netherlands 4-0
SAINT DENIS, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : France defeated the Netherlands by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Stade de France in Saint Denis.
Thomas Lemar scored dual goals
France dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Antoine Griezmann in the 14th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Frenchs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Lemar '73, '88 and Mbappé '90).
The result put the French top of Group A with 16 points. The Netherlands is fourth with 10 points. In their next game, France will meet Luxembourg at the Stade de France on September 3, while the Netherlands will face Bulgaria.
