LUXEMBOURG, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Luxembourg defeated Belarus by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg.
Belarus made the Luxembourgers doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Da Mota in the 60th minute.
The result put the Belarusians 5th in Group A with 5 points. Luxembourg is bottom with 4 points. In their next game, Belarus will meet second-placed Sweden at the Stade Josy Barthel on September 3, while Luxembourg will face France.
