World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Sweden defeats Belarus 4-0
BORISOV, Sep. 3, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Belarus by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Borisov Arena.
Sweden dominated the first half thanks to goals from Forsberg ('18), Nyman ('24) and Berg ('37). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Swedishs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Granqvist on penalty with just 6 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Swedish top of Group A with 16 points. Belarus is 5th with 5 points. In their next game, Sweden will meet Luxembourg at the Borisov Arena on October 7, while Belarus will face the Netherlands.
