World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Netherlands beats Belarus 3-1
BORISOV, Oct. 7, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : The Netherlands defeated Belarus by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Borisov Arena.
The Netherlands dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Pröpper in the 25th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Dutchs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Robben '84/penalty and Depay '90).
The result put the Dutch third in Group A with 16 points. Belarus is 5th with 5 points. In their last game, the Netherlands will meet second-placed Sweden at the Borisov Arena on October 10, while Belarus will face France.
