World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Sweden defeats Luxembourg 8-0
SOLNA, Oct. 7, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Luxembourg by a big score of 8-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Friends Arena in Solna.
Berg served up another goal feast
Sweden dominated the first half thanks to goals from Granqvist ('10 on penalty) and Berg ('18, '37). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Swedishs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring five times (Berg '54, '71, Lustig '60, Granqvist '67/penalty and Toivonen '76).
The result put the Swedish top of Group A with 19 points. Luxembourg is bottom with 5 points. In their last game, Sweden will meet third-placed the Netherlands at the Friends Arena on October 10, while Luxembourg will face Bulgaria.
