ANDORRA LA VELLA, Sep. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Latvia defeated Andorra by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Estadi Nacional d'Andorra.
45 minutes of play and neither the Latvians nor the Andorrans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Šabala in the 48th minute.
The result put the Latvians second in Group B with 3 points. In their next game, Latvia will meet third-placed the Faroe islands at the Estadi Nacional d'Andorra on October 7, while Andorra will face Portugal.
