BUDAPEST, Oct. 7, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Switzerland defeated Hungary by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Groupama Arena in Budapest.
45 minutes of play and neither the Swisss nor the Hungarians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Seferovic ('51), Rodríguez ('67) and Stocker ('89).
The result put the Swiss top of Group B with 6 points. Hungary is 5th with one point. In their next game, Switzerland will meet Andorra at the Groupama Arena on October 10, while Hungary will face Latvia.
