World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Portugal beats Faroe islands 6-0
TóRSHAVN, Oct. 10, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Portugal defeated the Faroe islands by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at the Torsvollur Stadium in Tórshavn.
A. Silva scored tripple goals
Portugal dominated the first half thanks to goals from A. Silva ('12, '22, '37). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Portugueses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Ronaldo '65, Moutinho '90 and Cancelo '90).
The result put the Portuguese second in Group B with 6 points. The Faroe islands is fourth with 4 points. In their next game, Portugal will meet Latvia at the Torsvollur Stadium on November 13, while the Faroe islands will face Switzerland.
