World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Portugal beats Hungary 3-0
LISBON, Mar. 25, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Portugal defeated Hungary by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored dual goals
Portugal dominated the first half thanks to goals from A. Silva ('32) and Ronaldo ('36). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Portugueses further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Ronaldo in the 65th minute.
The result put the Portuguese second in Group B with 12 points. Hungary is third with 7 points. In their next game, Portugal will meet Latvia at the Estádio da Luz on June 9, while Hungary will face Andorra.
