World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Switzerland beats Andorra 3-0
ST. GALLEN, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Switzerland defeated Andorra by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the kybunpark in St. Gallen.
Haris Seferovic scored dual goals
Switzerland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Haris Seferovic in the 43rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Swisss further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Seferovic '63 and Lichtsteiner '67).
The result put the Swiss top of Group B with 21 points. Andorra is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Switzerland will meet Latvia at the kybunpark on September 3, while Andorra will face the Faroe islands.
