BUDAPEST, Sep. 3, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Portugal defeated Hungary by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Groupama Arena in Budapest.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by A. Silva in the 48th minute.
The result put the Portuguese second in Group B with 21 points. Hungary is third with 10 points. In their next game, Portugal will meet Andorra at the Groupama Arena on October 7, while Hungary will face Switzerland.
