BAKU, Oct. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Azerbaijan defeated Norway by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Baku National Stadium.
All the action happened in the first half, with Medvedev goal in the 11th minute.
The result put the Azerbaijani top of Group C with 6 points. Norway is bottom with no points. In their next game, Azerbaijan will meet third-placed Czech republic at the Baku National Stadium on October 11, while Norway will face San Marino.
