HAMBURG, Oct. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Germany defeated Czech republic by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.
Thomas Müller scored dual goals
Germany dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Thomas Müller in the 13th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Germans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Kroos '49 and Müller '65).
The result put the Germans top of Group C with 6 points. Czech republic is fourth with one point. In their next game, Germany will meet third-placed Northern Ireland at the Volksparkstadion on October 11, while Czech republic will face Azerbaijan.
