HANOVER, Oct. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Germany defeated Northern Ireland by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Niedersachsenstadion in Hanover.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Julian Draxler ('13) and Sami Khedira ('17).
The result put the Germans top of Group C with 9 points. Northern Ireland is third with 4 points. In their next game, Germany will meet San Marino at the Niedersachsenstadion on November 11, while Northern Ireland will face Azerbaijan.
