World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Norway draw 1-1 with Czech republic
OSLO, Jun. 10, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Norway tied 1-1 with Czech republic (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.
The Czechs started off well by taking the lead thanks to Czech defender Theodor Gebre Selassie in the 36th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Norway with a saving goal from Søderlund on penalty in the 55th minute.
The result put the Czech third in Group C with 9 points. Norway is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Czech republic will meet group leaders Germany at the Ullevaal Stadion on September 1, while Norway will face Azerbaijan.
