World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Norway beats Azerbaijan 2-0
OSLO, Sep. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Norway defeated Azerbaijan by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.
Norway dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by King in the 31st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Norvegians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Sadygov into his own net in the 60th minute.
The result put the Norvegians fourth in Group C with 7 points. Azerbaijan is 5th with 7 points. In their next game, Norway will meet group leaders Germany at the Ullevaal Stadion on September 4, while Azerbaijan will face San Marino.
