SERRAVALLE, Sep. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Northern Ireland defeated San Marino by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the San Marino Stadium in Serravalle.
Magennis scored dual goals
San Marino made the Irishs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Magennis ('70, '75) and Davis ('78 on penalty).
The result put the Irish second in Group C with 16 points. San Marino is bottom with no points. In their next game, Northern Ireland will meet third-placed Czech republic at the San Marino Stadium on September 4, while San Marino will face Azerbaijan.
