STUTTGART, Sep. 4, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Germany defeated Norway by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart.
Timo Werner scored dual goals
Germany dominated the first half thanks to goals from Özil ('10), Draxler ('17) and Werner ('21, '40). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Germans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Goretzka '50 and Gómez '79).
The result put the Germans top of Group C with 24 points. Norway is 5th with 7 points. In their next game, Germany will meet second-placed Northern Ireland at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on October 5, while Norway will face San Marino.
