BELFAST, Sep. 4, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Northern Ireland defeated Czech republic by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at Windsor Park in Belfast.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Jonny Evans ('28) and Chris Brunt ('41).
The result put the Irish second in Group C with 19 points. Czech republic is fourth with 9 points. In their next game, Northern Ireland will meet group leaders Germany at Windsor Park on October 5, while Czech republic will face Azerbaijan.
