World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Germany beats Northern Ireland 3-1
BELFAST, Oct. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Germany defeated Northern Ireland by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at Windsor Park in Belfast.
Germany dominated the first half thanks to goals from Rudy ('2) and Wagner ('21). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Germans further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Kimmich with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Germans top of Group C with 27 points. Northern Ireland is second with 19 points. In their last game, Germany will meet Azerbaijan at Windsor Park on October 8, while Northern Ireland will face Norway.
