KAISERSLAUTERN, Oct. 8, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Germany defeated Azerbaijan by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup qualifying game on Sunday night at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern.
Leon Goretzka scored dual goals
German midfielder Leon Goretzka opened the score in the 8th minute, before seeing Azerbaijan catch up in the 34th minute thanks to Sheydayev. 1-1 at half time. The Germans eventually won the game in the second period with four more goals by Wagner ('54), Rüdiger ('64), Goretzka ('66) and Can ('81).
