DUBLIN, Oct. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Ireland defeated Georgia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Georgia made the Irishs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Irish defender Séamus Coleman in the 56th minute.
The result put the Irish fourth in Group D with 4 points. Georgia is 5th with no points. In their next game, Ireland will meet Moldova at the Aviva Stadium on October 9, while Georgia will face Wales.
